BET's Rip The Runway 2009
For those of you who missed last night's Rip the Runway on BET, you missed a fabulous fashion show including full figure friendly fashions by designer Korto Momolu (Project Runway Season 5 Finalist) and Plus Size designer Monif C whose models were actually true plus size women!
I can't tell you how excited and happy I was to see a fashion show embrace women whose body sizes represent the majority in this country. I wasn't disappointed. These ladies rocked everything from flowing gowns, to sexy swim wear, showing the world that plus sized girls are as sexy and fierce as their thinner counterparts.
It's my hope that other fashion shows and programs, both televised and not, will continue to feature fashions for full figured women and most importantly modeled by plus sized models (not just models above a size 6). There are still so many full figured women who have size acceptance issues that events such as this go a long way towards helping curvy women to recognize how fabulous their bodies are and that there are designers out there who are designing with them in mind.
Thank you Monif C for these fabulous creations and your contribution to those living the Curvy Life Style. Keep doing what you do!

You know, I was actually happy for the TWO designers, but disappointed that there were only two. Really? Monif C has had the gold bathing suit out since last year and I really wanted to see the new! I fell in love with the red! I absolutely adored it! Douglas says is a sweetheart and his looks were fab!
Keep up the coverage girl!
Way to keep it Curvy.Confident.Chic.!
