Last week, British rocker Beth Ditto launched her new plus size clothing line for UK retailer Evans. There has been a lot of buzz about this collection; a lot of excitement that I for one couldn't quite understand. I'm all for new designers and different visions of style for plus size women, we come in all flavors and tastes just like everyone else. But Beth Ditto? Her style in my opinion isn't anything worthy of emulating, in fact for the most part I tend to cringe whenever I see her.
That said, I give her kudos for staying true to herself and her sense of style. There are plenty of cookie cutter performers with cookie cutter taste in fashion that is right off the assembly line. Beth Ditto's look is definitely not that. It's far off the beaten path and goes instead down the rocky, unattended but unique and strangely fascinating road that not many choose to follow, but the special few dare to tread.
I am not a fan of Beth Ditto's collection. With the exception of one perhaps two pieces, I have to admit I find it quite awful. And that's okay. As certain as I am that her style does not appeal to me, I am more than positive it is exactly what some full figured women have been waiting for.
If you haven't had the opportunity to check out her line go to the Evans website and take a look at the entire collection.
As always let me know what you think. Do you love the new collection or not so much?

I love most of it. Don't care for the cat shit, tights and shoes though. Ditto is fabulous.
