Baby Phat Plus Size Dress, Sleeveless Halter Fatigue Print Mini
Okay, so I normally love what Baby Phat Plus has to offer full figure women. And Kimora? I think she is fabulous. What isn't so fabulous is that these models aren't anywhere near ever being plus size. In fact they aren't even your size 8 models that are usually passed off as plus size!
Enough is enough!! I can't even look at these dresses without the distinct feeling that it wasn't a woman like me that Baby Phat had in mind no matter the "Plus" on the label. It angers me to no end that a size zero was used to model these dresses. I want to see what this dress looks like on a woman who has a body with some meat on her bones. No disrespect to the model, she looks great but the outfits do say plus size and well, that she isn't.
So it seems for every two steps that the fashion industry takes forward in selection and style of our plus size attire, they are bound to take a step or two back in some other way. In this case by passing over what must have certainly been some very beautiful plus size models in favor of thin yet again.

I can't look at those dresses because they are horrible.
I wrote a blog on this a few weeks ago. The issue pains me as much as it does you. The thing is its like they us we aren't good enough to be in their ad campaigns. I really wish people would use more plus models, and not just size 14, give a fair representation of all the sizes of plus (at least the sizes you carry), I feel thats only fair.
